Jo Barsa holds the titles of owner and CEO, and serves as the strategic leader and the firm’s driving force, but she is best known as the smiling face of Barsa & Company.

With more than 20 years of experience, Jo brings a passion to client service that began in 1987, when she founded her own accounting consulting firm. The business quickly found its niche, focusing on the powerful way technology could positively impact the accounting process. Leveraging that specialization in 2001, Jo built out a software division, Barsa Technology Solutions, Inc., which she sold in 2009. Now with her emphasis exclusively back on client service, Jo leads a team of talented professionals who set the standard for high-touch accounting and tax services.

Jo has been recognized for her leadership by the San Diego Business Journal for the Women Who Mean Business (nominated in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009); she has been consistently ranked among the top 40 on the Top 100 Woman Owned Businesses, and in 2007she was a finalist for the Most Admired CEO award.

Jo earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from San Diego State University in 1983 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs. Jo is a member of the Ernst & Young Alumni Association, Vistage International, Provisors Carmel Valley and All-Cities Network Group. Jo serves as the treasurer for Del Mar Carmel Valley Sharks and San Diego Business Resources, where she is also a member.
